This will be the first of many posts showcasing the manufacturing capabilities here at Troyer Dirt Cars!

We made the investment in 2021 and 2022 to have a pair of TD5 chassis jigs constructed using the Uni-Jig Pro from DCS Performance Engineering.

Jig 1 has been the workhorse thus far, in use since November 2021 and Jig 2 was completed at the end of summer 2022. Jig 2's first in-house constructed chassis was completed recently with a second nearly complete! This 2 jig setup will give us the ability to not only manage the construction of chassis but allow us to have a jig open for repairs should the need arise.

Was Troyer cars sold , if so who owns it now???

So for those of us with older model Troyer cars, what happens if we need chassis repairs.. is that done in house or would we have contact TFR?

So do we now have 2 companies called Troyer Dirt, & building Troyer dirt race cars?

Could sort out sales with a sams club cash register for 99.00 a great way to track sales.

No doubt you can build them but is the support there to make them go fast

I like it a different mouse trap

When we purchased the Troyer Dirt brand (including all jigs, equipment, and technical information) from Troyer Race Cars / TFR Manufacturing in 2020, the ultimate goal was to continue on the great tradition of producing the best dirt modifieds on the market. To date, we have continued to utilize TFR Manufacturing to produce most of the components used on our cars including all chassis.

Troyer Dirt Cars is riding good momentum from the 2022 season and we'll be carrying that on with the TD5 chassis in 2023 and for years to come!

We'll have more details to share in the coming weeks and we're excited for the 2023 Season!

I get my cars, my parts, and my support from Mark and Matt at Troyer dirt. There are parts on the shelf, and a car (td 5) that we can build and race consistently. I’ve had Troyer’s for more than a couple years. I’m not going to change. I appreciate Marks desire to have his customers best interests in his sights. Keep up the great work boys. Troyer cars still winning Down Under!WOW HOW GREAT IT IS TO BE YOUNG.

Seiton Young parked the N42 Troyer chassis in victory lane at the Hessions Auto Parts Grafton Speedway on Saturday night November 26th, and in doing so sent a ripple out across the v8 dirt modified land scape proving that he has what it takes to mix it with the big names of the class and that his not just racing to make up the numbers.

Since coming out of the wingless sprints,Young has come onto the v8 dirt modified seen like a duck to water and made a great start to his 2022/23 season with two podium finishers in as many starts.

Hot off his 3rd place finish in the Lord Mayors Cup at the Castrol edge Lismore Speedway back on November 5th.

Seiton came into the Grafton meeting with a great opening stand at Lismore and showed all the fans in the stands that his in it to win it every time he pulls on the helmet.

November 26th and it was the season opener for the Grafton Speedway and just like Lismore it has had to over come it’s own issues when one of the wooden light towers fell down smashing a huge hole in the catch fence and blocking the track on the front straight.

But to there credit the Corbetts got down and dirty and fixed the fence and in doing so they also put up three brand new metal LED light poles.

Wow the weather gods turned out a beautiful sunny day with a nice cool breeze blowing across the venue.

The pit gates opened at 12noon and it was a first in best dressed scenario as transporters started coming through the gates.

With big numbers across all classes racing it was going to be a tight fit but we all seemed to make it happen and it was great to see the Grafton Speedway pits full to the brim.

3:45pm and it was time for drivers briefing for the 15 v8 dirt modified drivers in attendance.

Race format would see drivers end up doing 2 heats each held over 3 rounds.
This was a great way to do the heats and spread them out giving drivers and teams plenty of time to work on there cars between racers .

All V8 Dirt Modified drivers for heat one.

We need you up to the dummy grid was the call across the pit mic and the crowd held there breath to the sweet sound of rumbling motors coming out onto the track for the first time since the end of last season.

    Heat 1 Starting grid P1 Dunn. P2 Hall. P3 Quirk. P4 Reid. P5 Gardiner. P6 Young. P7 Armfield. P8 Kyle Armstrong. P9 McGregor. and P10 Crossley.

    Heat 1 Results. 1st Young. Race time of 2:01.165. 2nd Dunn. 3rd Quirk. 4th Armfield. 5th Crossley. 6th Gardiner. 7th McGregor. 8th Reid. 9th Kyle Armstrong. 10 Hall DNS.
    ——— ——— ——— ——— ———

    Heat 2 Starting grid P1 Armfield. P2 Gardiner. P3 Young. P4 T Firth. P5 Laurie. P6 A Firth. P7 Britten. P8 McGregor. P9 Brock Armstrong and in P10 Kyle Armstrong.

Heat 2 Results. Winner Taylah Firth race time of 2:09.035. 2nd Young. 3rd Armfield. 4th Andrew Firth. 5th Britten. 6th Laurie. 7th Brock Armstrong. 8th Kyle Armstrong. and in 9th McGregor.

    ——— ——— ——— ——— ———

Heat 3 Starting grid P1 Britten. P2 Andrew Firth. P3 Laurie. P4 Taylah Firth. P5 Quirk. P6 Dunn. P7 Brock Armstrong. And P8 Crossley. Drivers out for the night DNS Brent Hall and Mick Reid.

Heat 3 Results. Winner Britten race time of 2:01.525. 2nd Andrew Firth. 3rd Taylah Firth. 4th Quirk. 5th Dunn. 6th Laurie. 7th Brock Armstrong and in 8th Crossley.
    ——— ——— ——— ——— ———

With all the heats now complete it was time to see the points read out going into the nights 25 lap A main event.

This is how the points read after the three heats.

    1st Seiton Young 64. 2nd Taylah Firth 59. 3rd Kevin Britten 49. 4th Andrew Firth 45. 5th Luke Dunn 41. 6th Scott Quirk 40. 7th Darryl Armfield 39. 8th Shane Laurie 20. 9th Crossley 19. 10th Brock Armstrong 16. 11th Nathan McGregor 13. 12th Kyle Armstrong 11. 13th Brock Gardiner 10. 14th Mick Reid 6. 15th Brent Hall 0.

V8 DIRT MODIFIEDS LETS DO THIS.

At the start of the feature race Seiton and Taylah gave it there all to get the all important whole shot going into turn one and it was Young who had the right foot planted hard to the floor as he flew down towards turn two leading the pack with Taylah hot on his heels.

Following Taylah was Britten, Andrew Firth and the rest of the best as they all scrambled to find a smooth line around the tight confines that is the Grafton circuit.

As soon as the race started so came on the yellow lights as Scott Quirk unfortunately got caught up in an incident. Quirk was unable to restart the race due to rear diff issues in the N73 Bicknell.

Green green green was the call across the one way at the restart and once again Seiton gave it his all as the Nev Smith Plastering yellow and purple N42 Troyer chassis screamed away from the angry pack behind him.

At the restart former 5 time Aussie champion Britten made his move passing Taylah to move into second place.
Not to be out done Taylah her self had the Q15 Bicknell on rails as she did her best to keep up with the two cars out in front.

By half race distance Seiton now had Britten hot on his rear nerf bar but as Kevin came out of the infamous turn one the right rear shock parted ways with the Q34 bringing Britten’s race to an unfortunate end and he would have to watch the rest of the event from the infield.

Back to the race and with Young flying away from the rest of them all eyes now turned to see who would finish second and third respectively.

Taylah was now in a battle with Dunn after Luke got passed Andrew and the two of them looked for the smooth fast line to get around.

With only about 4 laps remaining Dunn made a big attempt to pass Taylah coming out of turn two but to her credit Taylah didn’t give an inch and made Luke work for everything as she set her eyes on a second place finish at her home track.

By now Dunn also had to cover his own line as Andrew made up ground and with only 2 laps to go it was on like donkey kong but in the end Luke held on the pick up a very impressive third place finish.

To me drive of the night had to go to Taylah as she crossed the finish line in a very impressive second place.
To make her second place finish even more sweet this was her first podium in the open class after stepping up from the 602 Sportsman’s.

But the talk in the stands was just how good Seiton did winning the A main. In actual fact Seiton won the race by more then 12 seconds and set a fastest lap time of 15.351.

Not to be out done Brock Armstrong drove a very well calculated race himself staying out of trouble and doing so Brock pick up the win for the sportsman’s in only his second race meeting. Well done to you and your team Brock and hopefully many more to come.

The final place’s read like this.

    Winner N42 Seiton Young. 2nd Q15 Taylah Firth. 3rd N83 Luke Dunn. 4th Q51 Andrew Firth. 5th N88s Brock Armstrong. 6th N53 Nathan McGregor. 7th N76 Kyle Armstrong. 8th Q69s Shane Laurie. Q34 Kevin Britten DNF. Q47s Crossley DNF. N73 Scott Quirk DNF. N27s Darryl Armfield DNF.
N77 Mick Reid DNS. And N8 Brent Hall DNS.

    Queensland V8 Dirt Modified Club
    Victorian V8 Dirt Modifieds
    WA V8 Dirt Modifieds
    V8 Dirt Modified Sportsman

Well that’s it thanks everyone for coming to have a skid at Grafton.

Until next time stay safe …

    Regards Shaq.
